@Kazuto9x I’m actually really busy this weekend and don’t have a lot of free time. I originally planned to finish it a day ago on 02/02 but I didn’t make it. Right now I've only done like 10% over my v3.1 @ 65% marking a 75% progress. Even if I finish it I would still have to re-work through from the beginning to do several corrections. IF I have time next week I might consider it but I feel like a fansub group might pick this up at any moment now. Also, there’s more and more people getting on this project and some of them are already recycling our subs like this: https://nyaa.si/view/1003074 Xeon & UM did a good job here adding descriptions, extras, and also nice fonts. I also downloaded this version but I haven’t gotten the chance to read all of the lines yet. I did do a quick review and I immediately noticed some very odd lines. To say at least, I may not agree with their choices on some of the lines for example: 30:38: Erika, what do you mean? (This is would probably work if she said "Erika, doyu imi desu ka?) My version will go something like either of these or similar: 30:38: Erika, is there something you want to tell me? 30:38: Erika, is there something you’d like to say to me? 38:40: what thats, ridiculous?! (maybe a typo or something, also added description above context) While ridiculous and absurd will work too but in this case the word unreasonable is strongly suggested: 38:40: Don’t be unreasonable! 38:40: That’s unreasonable! 38:40: Don’t ask the impossible! Or something similar. My v2.4 only covers up to 32 mins and from then on I start seeing lines like these and many more as I continued on. I would highly suggest incorporating my v3.1 to improve some lines up til the 51 min mark but that’s up to Xeno & UM. There’s also some minor things like: Military instead of MP or military police. Mayumi Saegusa being called boss instead of proper translation of “ojouu-sama”

@AMG yeh that scene at the 30min mark where they are all sat on the sofas talking we are going to retranslate against the original jp subs we plan to do that entire scene again currently have the majority of the lines in that scene tagged with "fæn" for us to easily search for and retranslate and re word if needed to suit the context.

we picked up too on the boss part and changed it to "my lady" wherever they have just used "ojouu-sama" on its own and then anywhere that honorific is used we have put that in along with any honorific we missed. the military police that has also been changed too. We have also picked up on and changed that any reference to the island the film is based around so the sign for the island and the use of its name in the jet fighter scene with mayumi using magic etc. is Minamitateshima lines we are re translating etc. - 08:00 -> 08:02 that 1 line - 30:25 -> 30:46 all those lines - 34:14 -> 34:19 that one line about her and hardy - 36:12 -> 36:16 should read this is also my first time swimming in an aquarium not this is also the first time........ - 37:19 -> 37:26 those 4/5 lines - 37:56 -> 38:14 those 4/5 lines - 39:55 -> 40:17 those 4/5 lines - 43:21 -> 43:36 those 3/5 lines - 44:33 -> 44:49 those 2 lines - 45:38 -> 45:43 that line as well as the line afterwards we missed translating.

@Xeonishio I'm believe that is not one name/word, I'm using Minami Tateshima just like Minami Tori Shima & Minami Daitojima Islands. It’s definitely not easy doing this, not to mention it takes a lot of time and effort. The basic/common dialogues are easy to understand and translate but as for the heavy scientific discussions, I’ve gone as far as doing the following process (you can try it out too but requires a certain amount of stamina xD): Step 1: I’m using the raw manga scans of this movie: http://lhscans.com/read-mahouka-koukou-no-rettousei-hoshi-wo-yobu-shoujo-raw-chapter-0.html For example this dialogue: https://i.imgur.com/xpzXw55.png Step 2: I crop out the texts only: https://i.imgur.com/BFDjcle.png Step 3: Then I upload them online with an OCR program: https://i.imgur.com/x3InFgC.png Step 4: Finally, I try my best to make sense of this mess of an outcome with Google: https://i.imgur.com/FvYOvNm.png I almost want to pull my hair out trying to make these translations make sense! It’s because there’s too many unnecessary special characters/symbols being generated from the images. I also noticed how inaccurate OCR is in converting the texts. I like how the manga and movie is almost like a carbon copy of each other ^_^

yeh I found ocr is general shit for this film so we have been drawing most of the text ourself.

shima means island so if you want to be that “anal” it would be Minamitate island plus if you look in the mission briefing where you first see Lina in her suit the scene at the 34minute mark if you look at the briefing screen they have the island is even labelled Minamitateshima

This is great truly great. But it would be even better if those of use that use regular media players without devolving technology didn't need to re-encode this back to its original 8bit AVC. so it can play on multiple media players vs. only one. How long is it going to take10bit fanaticsto figure out they have been used by importers like Funimation, Amazon.jp etc reduce the sharing ability of Anime Media. Most uploads have been by them. If it were truly Fans uploading all the 10bit. Then the same would have happened to the rest of the media on the net. But it hasnt in the 8 years that h10 has been around. No other media type even allows to few 10bit files to stay posted longer than it takes to notice something has been.

@AMG recycling? it is more retaining all the versions because all the versions atm is a mess I am waiting for a final version atm. but for now be happy I credited the sources. And be happy people like it as the subs are decent so far. Thanks anyways for the subs and well have fun with NYAA :P

Who steals from who, literally.... I guess I sort of get what sort of community this is lmao. For what I could see, large amount of all the subtitles I had found around are either the vietnamese translation we had back to otakustream or the re-worked script by AMG. The fact that Xeonishio took AMG's work and put in more details doesn't change the fact he didn't do much in the end (I saw his version after all lmao and it's pretty similar in the hardest parts to translate to AMG's). I tried to help out, seeing I translated this myself, but it looks like my efforts were pretty much pointless (or so Xionishio/Kimagurena stated). If ever, AMG gets large part of the credit, unless anyone in here actually started from scratch as I did and not by glossing over the vietnamese version and correcting grammar =w="

@kattara me and kimegurena stopped working on ours as we got it near complete with a few things that we translated wrong. We mainly did it just purely to have some fun, do something together and improve our japanese but the amount of shit we were given by a particular few individuals over shadowed the positivity and thanks we got so we decided to just stop as we lost motivation from reading all the crap and had enough going on in our personal lives to be dragged down with further negativity.

We MAY continue work on it and polish it up and give it privately to those who want it. But its unlikely as in my personal opinion the community here is like the league of legends community (a fair amount that make it nice place but an amount that make it a hell hole)

@Xeonishio aw man... I'm so sorry you guys had to put up with all that. There are a lot of us who REALLY appreciated the work you did!! And if you do update it, I would luv a copy! Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I feel you Xeonishio and thats the case with most online community ........... I think your subs were the best of them all and will be happy if your group release anime in future

@ Xeonishio: I say this with the utmost respect. "You need to have thicker skin" to help get past all the whiny people seeking to destroy everything that doesn't fit into their shitty bitty world. The only reason you and the rest of us don't see same type of people IRL, is because they CAN'T remain invisible the way they do hiding behind a screen. Most will go away once they realise they can't get you upset. Even if you stop responding in your topics or use a secondary nick to respond to requests. People will always say thank you.
