Part 1 (1-6): [#997320](https://nyaa.si/view/997320)
**Updates for part 2:**
1. Thanks to some feedback on the first torrent, I've adjusted my compression settings, so file sizes are smaller but are now 10-bit.
2. I've switched to untouched ISOs of the "Rock the Dragon" set for the Ocean Dub source.
3. Episode 4's FUNi/Kikuchi track is now properly synced and is included as v2 in this torrent.
4. Episodes 1-3 and 5 will be released as v2s at a later time.
*I’m currently creating what I consider to be a “perfect” version of DBZ by combining the best quality video with the most American English dub options available, for both nostalgic and completionist purposes. I figured I’d share what I’ve done so far with others. Most elements from this torrent come from other uploaders as mentioned below. This is a WIP - I can share more episodes once I complete them.*
**Video:**
English Level Set Blu-Rays - these Blu-Rays feature proper 4:3 aspect ratio and solid remastering, unlike the crappier season sets. Unfortunately this source stops at episode ~~34~~ 39, so if I continue past that point, I’ll switch to Dragon Boxes. (source: Grupa Mirai)
**Audio - 4 tracks:**
Japanese Mono Broadcast Audio (source: WinxBloom1980)
English 5.1 2005 FUNimation Remastered Dub w/ Kikuchi score (source: my own Dragon Box)
English 2.0 2005 FUNimation Remastered Dub w/ Nathan Johnson replacement score (source: DHD)
English 2.0 1996 Saban/Ocean Dub (source: ISOs provided by omar1st with my own edits to sync*)
Those of you familiar with the original Ocean Studios dub of DBZ know that it was rather heavily edited (the first 53 English episodes correspond to the first 67 original episodes), and so I have attempted to re-sync the audio to the best of my ability, filling in the gaps with the FUNi dub. This is what takes up the bulk of my time as it is a rather laborious process. Comments and feedback are welcome
*Thanks to Deli295 for his HQ rip of the "Rock the Dragon" Theme.

Assuming you're referring to my Ocean Dub edit, I will probably release a batch of just the audio once I'm done with all of them. That will be a while from now, though. The other audio tracks are available from the sources that I mention.
English 2.0 2005 FUNimation Remastered Dub w/ Nathan Johnson replacement score (source: DHD) - Is this one the Blu ray audio source ? Also
English 5.1 2005 FUNimation Remastered Dub w/ Kikuchi score (source: my own Dragon Box) - is thie Dragon Box the US Dragon box right ?
Yes, the Johnson score is from the 2013 "Season" Blu-Ray release, and the Kikuchi is from the 2008 R1/US Dragon Box. For these first 39 episodes I'm only syncing to the Level sets since I like the way they look. 40+ everything will be synced to R2/JPN Dragon Box, not sure of the source yet. I'm not super invested in the Johnson score so not sure if I'll continue it after 39 if it doesn't sync nicely with the Dragon Box.
@SimonCowell The Level Sets remaster the video at 1080p without sacrificing picture quality and keeping the original 4:3 aspect ratio, while also maintaining accurate color correction. The newer "season" Blu-Rays drench everything in DNR, crop the show to 16:9, and increase the saturation in an effort to appeal to modern consumers, but the result makes the show look flat and devoid of detail.
@TheNightSkies thanks for that. I may also stick with WinXBloom1980's encode. It really depends on time.
Please have the Dragon Box R2 untouched and maybe have the bluray bitrate a little higher but i'm guessing that it won't really make much of a difference in quality. Have SRT subtitles if you can.
Grupa-Mirai did a wonderful job DNRing the Level sets. That team really takes a lot of care into their work. For episodes 40+ would you be inclined to release an audio track sync'd for the season sets separately? As much as I love my 4:3 aspect ratio, I would like to have ocean voices in cropped 1080p until someone releases the all anticipated 1080p upscale of the dragon boxes.
Also, someone is working on a fan-project called Faulconer Revival (replacing the Johnson score with the Faulconer score for the first 67 episodes). I've been syncing his audio track to grupa-mirai's level sets. Just thought you might be interested.
Until I hit 67 (where the Ocean dub will stop) I will only be syncing to the Dragon Box, however afterwards I'll release all the Ocean audio separately. I don't plan on utilizing anything from the "Season" Blu-Rays as I personally find that version of the show unwatchable, however it shouldn't be too hard for you to sync them. Of the 12+ episodes I've done, I've only had to manually adjust the syncing of the DBOX audio a few times.
@iKaos he was referring to the Level Blu-rays. The Blu-rays of DBZ that FUNimation released before the shitty Season Blu-rays, you know, the Level BDs that got a proper remaster although they were cancelled by the second volume.
Plus, if you read reviews of DBZ Season Blu-rays you'll see that FUNimation will never do something similar to the Level BDs again.
@iKaos Thank for doing the ocean dub It was my plan with using the all the audio including theFaulconer Revival scores with this to add them all in the future.
One thing I ask though in the future for the batch set that you have that comes out. Can you include the alternate video option to include rock the dragon them if possible to integrate it i know thats asking alot. I am glad everyone has come together to work on these amazing things.
