Better video? Is there any dimming in the Netflix video compared to the TV version?
There is no dimming and the video quality is better than BS11
Yeup, there's no dimming and the video does look slightly better than the BS11 broadcast from what I've seen. Of course, the subs are slightly mistimed (around the second-half right right around there's supposed to be a commercial break in the broadcast version) because it was just ripped from Chyuu's release and just pasted on the Netflix video with no modifications.
>not using sushi for it smh
who need sushi when you have Aegisub or notepad :^)
The BS11 audio is still superior. If you extract the AC-3 stream from Netflix and run it through a program like Spek for spectrogram analysis, there's a hard truncating cut off right at the 15kHz frequency range and above. The BS11 raws extend to 20kHz. Thank you for muxing with the Netflix video though, it is without question the best source Screenshot of the Spek readout: https://i.imgur.com/5O7dKrf.png JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP NETFLIX BS11 Audio: https://i.imgur.com/bPs7BPu.png (Has some weird artifact banding at 15.9kHz but it's not inherent with other BS11 raws)
it's a well known fact that tv channels are usually the best source for audio before BDs
Are you gonna do this with the netflix video every week? :o
What programs and general practices should we use for everything actually, is there a wiki somewhere?. I was thinking of subbing some stuff that nobody else is likely to ever bother with like the Fate/Apocrypha recap episodes at some point, but I know pretty much nothing about the technical aspects of making funsubs or what programs I even can use beyond a list of program suggestions I got from an random AMV forum that uses MKVs and knowing that Aegisub is what Mori uses. I didn't even know anything like Sushi (if I found the right thing: https://github.com/tp7/Sushi ) existed until now so I really thought I'd have to re-time everything manually if I wanted to do anything like just transplant subs from the HorribleSubs release onto BDs for Kuzu no Honkai for friends that don't want to trust the Commie subs on the current English BD releases for it.
>don’t want to trust the Commie subs delet
@Nyaako Are the subtitles fixed at the second half of the video to be timed correct? Or we need to correct those our self?
>don’t want to trust the Commie subs on the current English BD releases for it. lol the subs are like 95% the same
I honestly haven't checked either of the subs, I just brought it up as the only real example I could currently think to test out Sushi on in the near future. I probably should've just kept my post there just to the main subject on how to learn to fansub properly.
